TrueNorth Trip Protection Lite is a Trip Protection plan for Canadian residents covering Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption up to a maximum per person trip cost of $25,000. The plan includes Trip Delay, Repatriation, and 24/7 Travel Assistance coverage. Not available for purchase in New Brunswick, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Yukon. Not available for travel to Israel or countries restricted by Canada Global Affairs. Maximum trip length for ages 0-59 is 90 days; ages 60-69 maximum trip length is 60 days, and ages70-89 maximum trip length is 16 days.

Premium is refundable only during the 10- day free look period from the purchase date, provided you have not already departed on the Trip and have not submitted a claim.

Plan Definitions

  • TRIP CANCELLATION

    We will reimburse you, up to the maximum benefit shown on the confirmation, for pre-paid non-refundable trip cost payments and deposits you made before your covered trip was cancelled if cancellation occurs before your scheduled departure date due to unforeseen circumstances such as sickness, injury, death, quarantine, pregnancy complications, bankruptcy of a Travel Supplier, Natural Disaster, Burglary, aircraft schedule change, relocation, termination or layoff, change of exam date, non-issuance of a visa or passport, loss or theft of passport, jury duty or subpoena, hijacking, terrorism, etc.

  • TRIP INTERRUPTION

    We will reimburse you up to the lesser of the maximum benefit shown on the confirmation, for pre-paid non-refundable unused cruise and/or land arrangements if you are caused to interrupt your covered trip for unforeseen reasons such as sickness, injury, death, quarantine, pregnancy complications, bankruptcy of a Travel Supplier, Natural Disaster, Burglary, aircraft schedule change, relocation, termination or layoff, change of exam date, non-issuance of a visa or passport, loss or theft of passport, jury duty or subpoena, hijacking, terrorism, etc.

  • TRIP DELAY

    We will reimburse you, up to the benefit maximum if your travel is delayed on or after your scheduled departure date in arriving at your destination or returning to your departure point for at least 6 hours resulting from unforeseen events including but not limited to delay, schedule change, or cancellation of your common carrier caused by strike, labour disruptions, bankruptcy or default, or grounding. Delay of the private automobile in which you are traveling as a result of a documented traffic accident, mechanical failure, weather conditions, or documented emergency road closure is also covered.

  • REPATRIATION OF REMAINS

    We will pay up to the maximum amount specified in the Schedule of Maximum Benefits for preparing and transporting your remains or ashes back to your Departure point, or the cremation or burial of your remains at the location where death occurs if you die during your Covered trip.

  • CANCELLATION FOR REFUND DURING FREE LOOK PERIOD 

    You may cancel this Policy for a full refund by giving Trawick International notice of cancellation during the 10-day free look period given you have not departed on your Covered trip and you have not submitted a claim against your policy. Documentation can be submitted to: info@trawickinternational.com. When calculating the free look period, the date after purchase is counted as day 1.

    If travel has started and after the 10-day free look period, the premium is non-refundable.

Coverage is subject to underwriting and the terms, conditions and limitations of the applicable policy. Payment of claims under any policy issued shall only be made in full compliance with all economic or trade and sanction laws or regulations, including but not limited to, legislative measures against terrorists, terrorist groups and other listed and sanctioned individuals and entities ("Designated Persons").
